Located beneath the historic Antoinette Hall Opera House, STAAR Theatre offers a distinctive venue that blends historic character with modern design and technical capability. Although the building above dates to 1868, the theatre itself has been completely renovated into a beautiful, state-of-the-art space designed to serve both private events and public performances.
STAAR Theatre is a popular choice for weddings, rehearsal dinners, dances, homeschool proms, business meetings and corporate dinners, providing a unique setting that elevates any gathering. Comfortable raised seating offers excellent sightlines for performances and presentations and can be fully removed to create an open floor plan ideal for banquets, dining and dancing. This flexibility allows the space to transform seamlessly from an elegant event venue to a professional performance environment.
In addition to private rentals, the theatre supports concerts, theatrical productions, presentations and movie screenings. The venue features professional lighting and sound systems, rehearsal space, dressing rooms and production support areas. A concession area is available for events, along with a designated space for catering services to operate during rentals that include food service.
Whether hosting a formal celebration, a business function or a creative production, STAAR Theatre provides a polished, adaptable venue where historic ambiance meets modern comfort and functionality.
Rental Prices for Private and Public Events
$1,000 and Up – Private Rental-weddings/private parties/corporate events utilizing backstage, front of house and concessions area
$800 and Up – Public Concerts or Band Performances (Depending on audience size)
$100 and up – Additional for Light/Sound System Operator
Ask about rental of smaller spaces for meetings and smaller gatherings
We will also discuss the option of a door split if tickets are sold (sharing marketing costs) with STAAR operating concessions for select events and merchandise sales going to the renter.
Cleanup
There will be a refundable $300 deposit for cleanup. Please put all trash in polycarts at south end of block. Trash cans/bags are provided. Please leave the facility as clean as you find it to insure return of deposit.
$100.00 surface sanitizing fee (non-refundable)
Food & Tables
Tables (round, rectangle) and chairs available for you to set up/break down or we can provide this service for a fee
You may bring in food if you would like, but please take it all with you when you go.
We do not have a kitchen. We do not provide table cloths.
Accommodations
You may bring in your own sound equipment, musicians or DJ. Hookups will be available.
Smoking is not permitted in the building. Lit candles must be enclosed in glass globes.
Alcohol may be served/NOT SOLD over 21. You must notify us if you are serving.
You must ask before taping/hanging decorations on walls. We provide hooks for walls.
You will be asked to sign a Liability Waiver for insurance purposes.
The tech booth will only be operated by STAAR personnel or authorized persons.
You will be asked to provide security as needed for your event.
If you will require the use of the stage or back stage areas, please speak with us.
Restrooms backstage and for audience will be clean and stocked.
