“Always…Patsy Cline” will be staged at STAAR Theatre at Antoinette Hall in Pulaski, Tennessee, during August. “Always…Patsy Cline” is more than a tribute to the legendary country singer who died tragically at age 30 in a plane crash in 1963. The show is based on a true story about Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in l961 and continued a correspondence with Cline until her death.

The show’s title was inspired by Cline’s letters to Seger, which were consistently signed “Love ALWAYS… Patsy Cline.” The musical play, complete with down home country humor, true emotion and even some audience participation, includes many of Patsy’s unforgettable hits such as “Crazy,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Sweet Dreams” and “Walking After Midnight”…27 songs in all.

“STAAR Theatre is absolutely thrilled to bring this production back to Giles County,” said MaryAnn Trimble, director of the upcoming production. “It is truly an inspiring experience that we have two talented women that are so valuable and rooted in the community share the stage with such a connection. Patsy Cline, played by Sandy Slayton-Mavrotheris, and Louise Seger, portrayed by Tammy Pierchoski, just ‘click’ up there!”

Trimble said she is grateful for the dedication of the five talented musicians – including Music Row and regional veteran performers – who portray Patsy’s Bodacious Bobcat Band. The musicians are Dave delRosario on bass, Bobby Curlee on lead guitar, Randall Lee Felske on drums, Jimmy Puckett on steel and Jason Perry on the keyboard.

“You will want to reserve seats early for this one,” Trimble said, noting that the play has enjoyed great success all over the United States, including a successful run off-Broadway. “It has been one of the most produced musicals in America according to American Theatre Magazine and has been enjoyed internationally by audiences in Canada, the UK and Australia.”

Performances are set for Aug. 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. to reserved seating. Tickets available at the box office located at Pierchoski Estate Law, next door to STAAR, by calling 931-363-7222 or for online purchase at www.antoinettehall.com. Trimble said tickets could be available at the door if the play is not sold out beforehand.
