STAAR is now registering students for its 2026 fall performing arts classes at STAAR Theatre, 105 N. First St., Pulaski. The fall lineup includes classes in Drama, Music, and Dance!
Registration is available online by using the form below. At this time we are only accepting registrations for Drama classes and private lessons. The Choir and Dance classes will open very soon. See details of all classes below.
Throughout the year STAAR offers classes in the performing arts, visual arts and cultural arts for both children and adults. Classes can include acting, ballet, tap, musical theater dance, voice technique and choir, improv, hip hop dance, line dancing and more, all taught by instructors with years of experience in their fields. Acting

SHOWCASE: Monday & Tuesday, December 14-15 at 6 PM
STAAR Theatre, with a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, is hosting youth acting classes in the fall and spring. The fall acting class will offer an introduction to the craft of acting, with a focus on understanding the actor’s instrument and building and sustaining character. Students will learn monologues for auditions, performance, and the opportunity to register for the Tennessee All State Theatre Auditions in January 2027. The class is open to young actors of all experience levels, including beginners.
Some lesson topics will include memory work, combating stage fright, warm-ups, projection, the actor’s instrument, acting pedagogy, character analysis, script scoring, rolescoring and improvisation.
No classes will be held October 5-6 for fall break or November 24-25 for Thanksgiving.

STAAR Theatre, in collaboration with University of Tennessee Southern, brings a new Children’s Choir to southern middle Tennessee! This first semester we are offering a Junior Chorus for grades 5-9 and a waitlist for grades 1-4 and 10-12 to open when we reach minimum enrollment.
No classes will be held November 26 for Thanksgiving.
Dress rehearsal Monday, November 30. We will perform at Mingle Jingle on Thursday, December 3. Combined choir concerts with the UT Southern choirs will be held on Saturday, December 5 at 7 PM and Sunday, December 6 at 2 PM.

Hope is a current student at University of North Alabama seeking a Master’s Degree in Music Education. She is a STAAR Theatre alum, having been on stage with us since she was a child, and most recently the Vocal Director for Disney’s Aladdin Jr.
