Welcome to Staar Theatre’s “Drop In” Improv Class. We will be meeting every Thursday night from 6-8 pm beginning on April 24th. Classes will explore short and long form improv to help students fall in love with the art form. This class is for ages 14 through Adult and will cost $10ea, paid for with cash or venmo per session.
This class is meant for comedians, actors, and individuals working on personal growth with their communication skills. We are here to laugh, learn, and have fun. Attend any class you would like upon your convenience.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced performer, Drop-in Improv classes offer something for everyone. Michael McEvilly, with over 20 years of experience in the improv scene across Southern California and Tennessee, will lead you through a dynamic mix of warm-ups, exercises, and performance games designed to sharpen your skills. You’ll learn to craft compelling scenes, develop characters, and enhance your ability to listen and respond in the moment—key skills not just in acting, but in everyday communication.
Michael brings a wealth of knowledge from training with top improv theaters like Upright Citizens Brigade and The Pack Theater. His passion for teaching and his commitment to helping students embrace the moment make this class a unique opportunity. You will not only hone your improv abilities, but you’ll also gain confidence and have fun doing it.
Those interested will be considered for a performing Improv Troupe in the fall.
