​Mary Ann Trimble

 

Mary Ann Trimble says she is always ready to work with the “young and old” alike. Her outstanding record of performing, directing and producing original work has made her a valued member of the STAAR  team.

A retired educator, she holds advanced degrees in education from the University of Alabama. During her distinguished career she taught dance, drama and athletics at both the middle school and high school levels.

She has coached state medalists in cross country, track and field. Mary Ann was recognized by the State of Alabama as an outstanding coach in cross country running. Her teams brought home state titles during her coaching days. Her coaching accomplishments in Cheer Squad won National Recognition.

She was the resident floor and beam choreographer for a high school state award winning team in gymnastics.  Incorporating classical dance, tap, and jazz into physical education classes was recognized as a unique way to support the arts and develop lifelong skills not only in movement but in the appreciation of dance.

Her performance career began as a child and was devoted to classical ballet. She was a member of the established Birmingham Civic Ballet, now referred to as the Alabama State Ballet.

Mary Ann has not only had the opportunity of working with fantastic dance studio owners as part of their staff, she has owned two dance and tumbling studios herself.
