Rosalyn Craft

Rosalyn Craft, though many of you know her as Ms. Rosie,  is new to Giles County, having moved here at the beginning of 2022. Even still, she already has a growing list of credits at STAAR Theatre including Makeup Design for “Little Mermaid,” Music Director for “The Wizard of Oz,” and Technical Director for several other productions.

Growing up, her mother was a music teacher and thus, music was always a part of her life. Choir, band, musical theater, and all the small ensembles in between. She solidified her love of music by studying Music Education at the Herb Alpert School of Music at University of California Los Angles (UCLA).

Upon graduation, she moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her new husband and took a Production Coordinator position at the College of Music & Dramatic Arts at Louisiana State University (LSU). After several years as a production manager and stage manager for touring ensembles and LSU Opera, Rosalyn was thrilled to be offered the Director role for the LSU Performing Arts Academy.

While working in such high profile establishments at UCLA and LSU was thrilling, nothing could be more rewarding than having children. After her first child was born, Rosalyn decided not to return to work full-time, and instead renewed her interest in teaching music, this time to young children. She started teaching at Gymboree Play & Music as a play leader and music leader, and eventually a manager and trainer for all the arts, education, play and music classes.

Rosalyn is excited to be part of STAAR’s new venture into classes, and hopes to hear lots of new voices on stage in the coming years.
