“There are many new faces that will be appearing on the STAAR stage in this live production with nearly half of the cast being brand new to the STAAR family,” said Tammy Pierchoski, Executive Director of STAAR Theatre at Antoinette Hall.
Shows are scheduled for Aug. 23 and 24 and Sept. 6 and 7 at 7 p.m., while matinees are set for Aug. 25 and Sept. 8 at 2 p.m., providing many options for adults and children to experience the magic of this timeless story.
More than 60 children and youth will be on stage. There are 10 in the STAAR directing team, and additional volunteers include more than two dozen parents. Co-directors and co-choreographers for the play are Sandy Slayton-Mavrotheris and MaryAnn Trimble.
“This is a very talented cast,” said Slayton-Mavrotheris. “The children have worked very hard, and I am excited for everyone to see this production.”
STAAR Theatre hosted its third annual theatre camp this summer to encourage and develop fresh talent.
“We had a wonderful camp this year where many of these talents emerged,” Pierchoski said. “The directing team has worked all summer with these young people, and the proof is in the production.”
Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for age 12 and below and $15 for front row reserved seating for any age.
“The community’s support by attending these productions is so valuable,” Pierchoski observed. “When the house is full, the actors shine like stars. We’d love for everyone to come join our ‘Circle of Life.’”
