What is STAAR?

STAAR, Southern Tennessee Arts Repertory, is a 501c3 organization that for more than two decades has brought the arts to Giles County, Tennessee, and surrounding communities in South Central Tennessee and North Alabama. STAAR engages in a number of initiatives with two primary purposes – to entertain and to educate.

STAAR Theatre presents theatrical productions, both dramatic and musical, throughout the year and hosts traveling shows of all types from musicians to magicians.

Our beautiful and comfortable new seating now accommodates 140 patrons per performance. 

Special events by STAAR include murder mystery dinners, holiday events and other engaging activities.

STAAR Studio offers classes in performing, visual and cultural arts to adults, teens, youth and children. Class options include dance, music, voice, choir, drama, songwriting, quilting and more.

When your car tags are set for renewal, go online to the one of the links below and select your next license plate. Then notify your county clerk’s office before you renew to change your plate to one of the Tennessee Arts Commission plates. Make sure you park in spots that allow your tags to show everyone that you support the Arts in Tennessee!
